Had a great show in Longview, Washington this afternoon. Beautiful theater. Longview began as a planned logging town about 60 miles from Mount St. Helen. We couldn't see the volcano - it's the rainy season and the clouds are low and far and wide - but it's out there. Odd to be near a volcano. Doesn't seem to be a common American experience - at least not from my life. But it's very real to those living here.
Tomorrow we have an early morning show and then backtrack shortly south for a Portland lunch and then off to Couer d'Alene, Idaho to spend the night. It will be a long day of travel, but the views are supposed to be wonderful up the Columbia River Valley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_River).

And here are a few shots from Roseburg, Oregon that I took from my cell from two days ago. Rick, Robin, and I took a short walk in the early afternoon. Along the way we ran across a Mercedes for sale. Tempting... :)
And then later in the day, Rick and I took another walk. Sunset in one direction...
And the South Umpqua River in the other...
All these places I've never been. Only little bites of them. Just enough to want more.
