72 ounce steaks, desertscapes, and reunions...

Morning...

Yesterday opened and opened and opened into color and laughter and newness...

Preston, our amazing bus driver, recommended lunch at The Big Texan outside of Amarillo, Texas.

We stopped, hungry, and ready to put foot to solid ground.

Vince celebrated...

Dave pointed the way...

Yes, that was a giant boot.

That man.  Up there.  He's taller than I am.

Mugs as big as your head.

The Big Texan's claim to fame is a 72 ounce steak meal challenge.  If you can eat this meal in an hour, you get it free.  A joyful cook shows it off.

The bald guy in white below the big antlers was going for it.  Double click the image to get a better look.  I called back later in the day to see if he succeeded.  Sadly, he did not.

Happy bellies after lunch...

John took a run down this road while we ate.  He's so inspiring.  Seriously.  He is.  :)

Bus fashion!  The wrist bands help with motion sickness.  Sean and Ben are now both steady and stylish.

Back on the bus!

Above... A view just outside Albuquerque and below is a reunion with Amelia and Frank!  We went to a great local place called The Frontier for dinner...

And sat outside for some drinks elsewhere later on...

Yesterday was a pretty near perfect day...

Love from the desert...
O.
