The Columbia River Gorge

We started out yesterday with a morning matinee in Longview, Washington.

Before fight call...

Golly, fight call is fun!

Marcy decorated for Halloween...

Gathering after the show before boarding the bus...

The drive was splendid.  We passed Mount St. Helen and Mount Hood.  The photo directly below is of a truck passing below Mount Hood.  It almost looks like the truck is passing below a billboard.

The highlight of the trip yesterday was visiting Multnomah Falls.  600 some feet high.  The second highest continuously running waterfall in America.  (This photo does not do its height justice.)

And the best part for me, was seeing wild salmon making their way up this stream to the falls.  Their movement through this challenge was shockingly inspiring.  The bank of the stream held travelers cheering them on.  It was so beautiful.  And surprising.  I never thought when I woke yesterday morning that we would see this.  We were very lucky.

A couple of actor-salmon making their way up to the falls as well...

Here's a link to someone else's photo of the falls above.  I found it online.  Thought it was beautiful...

Following water down...

The lodge that fed us.

A happy Ben last looking...

The rest of the trip was about listening to music and looking out the window.

That's the moon, believe it or not.

Today we head to Butte, Montana...

Keep swimming, y'all!
O.
